Blown-In Blanket System (BIBS)

Duane is certified, and specializes in (Blown-In-Blanket System) BIBS. BIBS is a process where fabric is installed over walls and/or ceilings by stapling it to the studs. Then fiberglass is blown into cavity through holes made in the fabric. Fiberglass is blown at a density of 1.8 to 2.3 pounds per cubic foot. Two by four walls will have a R-Factor of 15, and two by six walls will have a R-Factor of 23.

Fabric can be installed to both sides of cathedral wall ends, and knee walls, which eliminates the need to apply backing to these areas. BIBS can also be installed to cathedral ceilings where no access will be allowed after sheet rock is hung.

Other areas where BIBS can be used is in crawl space floors, ceilings of garages with bonus rooms above, and in basement ceilings for sound control.

Fiberglass Batt

We install fiberglass batt in exterior walls. Two by four walls typically have a R-13, and two by six will typically have an R-19.

Fiberglass batt can also be used for sound control on interior walls and basement ceilings.

Walls for Existing Homes

Sunflower can insulate existing walls. Typical installation includes drilling 2" holes on the exterior or interior of the house. Two by four walls will have a R-Factor of 15, and two by six walls will have a R-Factor of 23.
